Overall though, I'm as ready as I'll ever be. I've got piles of stuff to pack and my head is filled with advice from my mom. Moments ago she handed me a ziploc bag filled with tissues saying "Stick this in your carryon, you'll thank me later." Apparently tissues are rough in Chile. She thinks of everything.
I am officially a Chilean now, with the travel document to prove it, so that I will be able to enter the country as a Chilean, saving me the 100 + dollars Americans have to pay. And more importantly, it means so much to my mom that I was able to become a Chilean, something she never even dreamed her daughter could do.
There are many people that I am sad to leave behind here in the States, but I know we will meet again!
